Children explore faith with a natural sense of wonder and joy. September to May, children ages 2-14 are welcomed into our Nursery, Sunday School & Youth programs.
Children between ages 2-4 are welcome to attend our Nursery during worship services. Parent volunteers take care of toddlers in our nursery room just off the the main foyer.
During the Worship service children are called to Community Time at the front. Following this short discussion time, children are guided to the Sunday School room with Jackie and James, their Sunday School teacher and Music Leader, where they remain until the end of Worship. Children can be picked up in the Burnham room next to the sanctuary after Service.
Kids 11-14 are invited to join our First United Youth Group. Youth Group meets on Sundays during worship as well as on some Friday evenings. The idea behind our gathering is to create a space of well-being: a place to feel welcome and safe, and to practice ways of being in God’s love. Please join us for some fun and exploration!
If you are new to First United we ask that you fill in a short registration form and give it to Jackie before your first Sunday school lesson. If you are returning to First, you do not have to fill out a new registration, your information will already have been recorded in our database.
We offer a Nursery area from which the service can be heard, should a parent or caregiver need to leave the worship service to care for their infant or toddler. The Nursery room is just off of the main upper foyer, and next to the Sunday School room.
VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL
In May, 2015 we held our first VBS on a school Professional Development day and received great response and feedback from the children and their families. Watch for Vacation Bible School dates to be announced throughout the school year.
Every summer kids have the opportunity to sign up for summer camp at Camp Shagabec in the Saskatchewan Cypress Hills. Talk to the office if you interested in attending, and you can visit their website below for times, dates and more information.
